Enrichment

At Bentley Heath Primary School, we believe in nurturing the whole child and providing a rich, diverse educational experience that goes beyond the classroom. Our enrichment programs are designed to inspire, engage, and develop our pupils into well-rounded individuals.

Bespoke PSHE Curriculum

Our bespoke PSHE (Personal, Social, Health, and Economic) curriculum is tailored to meet the unique needs of our pupils. We have carefully crafted this curriculum to ensure it addresses the specific challenges and opportunities our students face, promoting their personal development and well-being.

After School Clubs

We offer a vast range of after school clubs that cater to a variety of interests and talents. Whether your child is passionate about sports, musical theatre, or cookery, there is something for everyone. These clubs provide an excellent opportunity for pupils to explore new hobbies, develop skills, and make new friends in a fun and supportive environment.

Courageous Advocacy & Student Leadership

At Bentley Heath, we encourage our pupils to be courageous advocates for positive change. Through our ‘Kindness Projects,’ each class selects a focus area to promote kindness and community spirit. These projects empower students to make a difference and develop a sense of social responsibility.

Pupils at Bentley Heath also have opportunities for leadership through our School Parliament. This ensures our children’s voices are heard and enables the children to have more opportunities to be courageous advocates and agents of change, not only within school but in the local community as well.

Our school parliament is organised into five different ministries made up of children from across the school with a particular passion for the ministries’ focus with an overarching School Council, renamed as our Junior Leadership Team or Cabinet.

Educational Visits

Our well-thought-out and impactful programme of educational visits is designed to complement our curriculum and provide pupils with a range of enriching experiences. These visits are carefully planned to link with curriculum areas, offering students the opportunity to learn in real-world contexts and broaden their horizons.

Alongside these carefully planned trips, pupils also have regular opportunities for Local Area Visits. These include visiting Bentley Heath Park, walking to local shops and businesses, and other fieldwork related to History and Geography. Year groups also benefit from visitors to the school, for example regular author visits, and Roman Workshops.

Music Lessons

Music is an integral part of our enrichment offering. Pupils have the opportunity to learn an instrument through peripatetic music lessons, as well as whole-class instruction. Starting in Year 2 with the recorder, and continuing with a term of ukulele in Years 3, 4, and 5, our music program fosters creativity and a love for music.

Sporting Events

We are proud of our wide range of sporting events, facilitated through our links with the South Solihull Sports Partnership. These events provide pupils with the chance to participate in various sports, promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and a healthy competitive spirit.

At Bentley Heath Primary School, we are committed to providing an enriching educational experience that prepares our pupils for success in all aspects of life. We invite you to explore the many opportunities we offer and join us in nurturing the next generation of confident, capable, and compassionate individuals.
